The Words We Choose Become the World We Live In
Have you ever paused to truly listen to the way you speak to yourself?
Not just the obvious self-talk… but the subtle ways you describe your emotions, your day, your life?
Words are not just sounds. They are energy. They shape how we feel, how we show up, and how we move through the world.
Words are spells we cast – quietly, repeatedly – and eventually, we start to live inside the stories they create.
Today, I’m grateful for the power of awareness – the kind that gently invites us to choose again. To soften the language we use with ourselves. To reframe, not to deny, but to transform.
Lately, instead of saying “I’m so busy,” I’ve been saying “My life is full and abundant.”
Instead of “This is hard,” I say “This is stretching me in new ways.”
Instead of “I’m overwhelmed,” I say “I’m navigating a lot right now, and that’s okay.”
This reframing is subtle, and it’s powerful. Because the words we use to name our experience become our experience.
So here’s a gentle invitation:
Choose words that open, not close.
That expand, not contract.
That soothe, not shame.
Be curious with yourself. Be playful. Notice what would happen if you soften your inner labels just a little? What might shift if your language became a bridge to kindness – not just for others, but for yourself?
Today, I give thanks for the capacity we all have to rewrite the narrative – one word at a time. And for the reminder that we don’t need to be perfect. We just need to be present. Present enough to notice. Present enough to choose.
And if you need this reminder today, let it land gently:
Your light is seen.
Your heart is known.
You are doing better than you think.
So breathe. Soften.
And speak to yourself like someone you love.
If you have a reframe that’s helped you shift your day or your energy – I’d love to hear it. Let’s shape our world in more helpful and loving ways together.
With love,
